After having a track featured on the first Muted Stories album, mOAR is very pleased to present this new enigmatic full-length release by Japanese sound artist Duenn. The title is wordplay, partially in reference to the concept of reincarnation. An excellent, and ultimately mysterious album which deserves repeated listening (i.e. replay).
Duenn has had work released by a number of publishers such as Richard Chartier's Line, Entr'acte, White Paddy Mountain, SicSic, and Slowdown Records. Most notably, Duenn has collaborated a number of times with Merzbow, and has had split releases with Celer and Hakobune.
I regularly imbibe pure frequency-substance from Mr. Chartier, having collected a number of his recordings, and this is one of my favorite ones. So lyrical and...apt... are all the little parts and pieces. Everything has never been in this much of a right place. Considered sound, concise statement, well-met communique. One of those special records that is just as much music as it isn't, and continues to be there for me when disconnection is paramount. Thank you, Mr. Chartier. Tom Rimshot
